The Swannanoa 4-H Education Center is a hidden treasure. Located in a cove above the Grovemont neighborhood, north of the Swannanoa River at the base of the Great Craggy Mountains. From the 90 acres, protected forest land extends to the north over hundreds of square miles, up to 6,000 foot Craggy Dome and continuing up to Mount Mitchell, the highest point in the eastern United States.

The Center now includes eight campers cabins (with electricity and hot showers), a main lodge with full kitchen, dining, office, and classroom space, a recreation hall, an excellent outdoor swimming pool, sports fields, a large organic garden, five miles of trails, an overnight camping shelter, and an authentic hundred-year-old Cherokee cabin that was moved here from the Reservation as an educational resource.

We hold obedience, rally, and freestyle in the recreation hall matts with ring gates. The Dining Hall boast comfortable porches and the moment you enter the grounds you feel it's true relaxed camp atmosphere!
