I began in the sport of purebred dogs in 1975 with a
Rough Collie
and obtained my first Belgian Tervuren in 1978. She and I began tracking
in 1979. She went on to become AKC/CKC CH, Can OTCh StarBright Bacho
Noire AKC/CKC UDTX; the first Belgian Tervuren bitch to obtain the
TDX title. Since then I have put tracking titles on every Belgian
that we have owned and on many that I have co-owned.
I was approved to judge TD Tests in 1983 and three years
later approved to judge TDX. I now also judge VST Tests. I have put
AKC and CKC TD and TDX titles on numerous dogs over the past 20 plus
years. I am currently working one dog in obedience and tracking and
am tracking another.
I teach obedience on a regular basis for two local clubs and have
a small tracking group that meets weekly. Over the years my students
have been very successful in titling their dogs. My students have
earned TD, TDX, UD, and UDX titles.
In 2005 I was honored to judge the 2nd AKC National Tracking Invitation.
I reside in Ann Arbor, MI. with my husband, John Blankley. Together we are PathFinder Belgians, Ltd...
I am an organic chemist by training and have worked both in the drug industry and as a Professor of Chemistry at Schoolcraft College. Currently I am retired and enjoying working the dogs and traveling with my husband and dogs.
